Richard Tisei, Openly Gay Republican, Picked for GOP Ticket in Mass. Gov.'s Race

A Republican political hopeful interested in serving as governor of Massachusetts announced Monday he has chosen Richard R. Tisei, an openly gay state legislator, to be his running mate in the 2010 gubernatorial election.

"Want you to be the first to know: I've chosen State Senator Richard Tisei as my running mate," Republican Charles Baker wrote on his Twitter account. "Excited about this team."

In the photo at left, Baker stands to the left of Tisei outside the civic center in Wakefield, Mass.

Baker is the former CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and a former adviser to two Republican governors. He has known Tisei for years, the Boston Globe reports, and Tisei's years in the state legislature will make up for Baker's limited political experience.

Tisei, who the Globe called an "only-in-Massachusetts character," publicly disclosed his sexuality to the newspaper last week, though it was widely known.

"It is not exactly a news flash," he said. "I don't think people really care these days."

Tisei played a key role in retaining marriage equality in Massachusetts. In 1986 he told the Globe, "I broke people's preconceived notions about what a Republican is... We have to go on breaking the stereotypes."

Gay rights IS a political issue. And, unfortunately, the gay rights activists have a working relationship with the abortion lovers and the feminist activists. So you end up with unilateral divorce, gay marriage, gay adoption of little boys, and all the rest of it.

I have had a number of homosexual colleagues over the years, and have worked closely with some of them. I would distinguish between those who keep their sex life private and separate from their business dealings, and those who don’t.

Unfortunately, this guy has come out of the closet and declared himself to be gay, played a role earlier in pushing for homosexual marriage in his state, and can be expected to take similar political positions in the future.

And there’s not much doubt that he was chosen for Lieut. Gov. BECAUSE he is gay. Which throws a pretty dismal light on Baker.

Well, unfortunately, the homosexual agenda has made it impossible NOT to care, one way or the other. Most people would have preferred we didn’t have to, but in this age, we must.

You may feel free to “get with the times”. As for me and mine, we will stick with reality, tyvm! Anyone who has such poor judgment in their personal lives as to subject themselves to the type of behavior homosexuals live, does no have the qualifying good judgment to make decisions that will effect my state or country.

The republican party is not just stuck on stupid, they have welding the gears locked into stupid.

Perhaps all these homosexuals infesting the country club RINOs explains why there is no support for the national republican party.

Fiorina is self destructing,

McCain is losing to an undeclared candidate,

The leftist scuzzy can’t even get more than 5% of the vote without a lie from RNC hq,

and the Senate republican leadership refuses to fight so they can sit on their fat asses and stuff their faces with a turkey dinner...

at some point the pathetic becomes criminal.

What times would those be? Rome, circa 400AD, in the bathhouse?

You need to find a stronger point. Rome in circa 400AD was thoroughly Christianized.

Is this the “message board” Howie Carr refers to? In any case, chalk up one for the sodomite enthusiasts within the Republican Party. Between this and Hedlund’s bastard child, the Reagan Republicans are going to be either holding their noses or just not voting at all.

If this dude is conservative on the issues, who cares who he sleeps with? MA is a lost cause for republicans anyway.

One pervert in public office is one too many. A homo running for office *is* an issue.

“get with the times.”
Look around you. Terrorism, socialism, abortion, wider acceptance of perversion, etc. What’s so wonderful about the times that I would* want* to get with them?

After killing the Marriage Amendment, Tisei went on the support the “Bathroom Bill” which allows men in dresses to use the Ladies Room with my mother and daughter. He should have come out of the closet when he was voting his sexual orientation.
He was not going to run for re-election. He could still lose in the Primary as they don’t run as a ticket. He also as Minority Leader announced that the MASSGOP would not be the party of traditional values.

Us conservatives have got to quit casting those stones and get with the times .

How about getting with the truth. It is a behavior. It is a learned behavior and a destructive behavior.

Not a behavior that I as a Conservative will support.

Thanks for your comment to Tribal . . .

Yep, today conservatives are told to move with the times, meaning we are not allowed to belive in absolutes, or absolute truth. We are told we must not believe in abiding principles or eternal laws. Jus move with the times.

Sounds Libertarian. Libertarians are conservatives in economics, so they know full well that 2+2=4 is an absolute, an eternal law. But they deny there are any such absulutes outside of what they can assign a mathematical formula. God’s laws concerning sin and their affects upon nations do not exist in their views of liberty.

A sodomite to be the GOP candidate for a governorship. It will TRICKLE down into the halls of law-making, and into the centers of education. It will affect all policy in the state. It will make a dangerous place for state citizens who want to raise their children according to Christian mores.

NO sodomite wants it left in his own bedroom. He wants it in YOUR childrens’ bedroom.

But you are one who knows these things.

This is the GOP that Mitt Romney and Bill Weld bequeathed the voters of Massachusetts. If you want your GOP to look like this, make sure you vote for well-heeled, good-looking liberals in state-wide elections.

If he believes in supporting the these basic pillars of conservatism:

1. Right to life
2. Personal responsibility
3. Respect for the Constitution
4. Smaller government
5. Right to keep and bear arms
6. Strong military

I don't care who he sleeps with.

What about the gay marriage issue, which in Massachusetts opened the door to teaching kidergartners about the normalcy of homos.

It wouldn’t matter if they didn’t force their perversions on the rest of us.
