The American public is fed up with BO Plenty’s kowtowing to foreign potentates. In Asia especially, kowtowing is a sign of weakness and submission.
Right you are. We spent a couple months in China when my husband was there on a work assignment. I NEVER saw anyone bow!

No don’t bow! You’ll come off looking either ignorant or condescending. Chinese people shake hands when meeting someone for the first time, or meeting an acquaintance. For special occasions like festives, they take their left hand and make it into a fist, the right palm grabs the left fist, this is the Chinese greeting (you see it in old kungfu movies).
But for most casual situations, a hand shake is sufficient, and friendly. And most chinese people love it when you ask them questions about their culture, chinese culture is often misunderstood by foreigners, most chinese are hospitable people who would invite you over for tea and chat

I think it would be hilarious if the Republicans all started bowing (on camera, of course) to Obumbles , Reid, & Pelosi — big, exaggerated bows with smirks on their faces.
I have been on the Zogby poll list for some years, and often one of the questions is "Are you ashamed of the President?" (especially prominent during the Bush years). For the first time, I recently answered "Yes" as Obama goes from being a fraud to being a buffoon. Hopefully this extreme bowing routine will catch on with the public and finish making a mockery of him.
