Since the start of his presidency, U.S. President Barack Obama's approval rating has declined more among non-Hispanic whites than among nonwhites, and now, fewer than 4 in 10 whites approve of the job Obama is doing as president.
Obama last week fell below 50% approval in Gallup Daily tracking for the first time in his presidency, both in daily three-day rolling averages and in Gallup Daily tracking results aggregated weekly.

Blacks' support for Obama has averaged 93% during his time in office, and has been at or above 90% nearly every week during his presidency. Thus, part of the reason Obama's support among nonwhites has not dropped as much as his support among other groups is because of his consistent support from blacks. (With Hispanics' approval rating down five points, greater declines among Asians, Native Americans, and those of mixed races account for his total seven-point drop among nonwhites.)
The accompanying table shows how Obama's approval rating has changed by subgroup from his first full week in office to the most recent week. The only subgroup showing a greater change than whites is Republicans, down 24 points during this time. Independents' approval of Obama has declined nearly as much (down 18 points), whereas support among Democrats is down only 6 points.
Obama's strongest support comes from blacks, Democrats, and liberals -- all of whom give him approval ratings above 80%. He maintains solid support of more than 60% from nonwhites, Hispanics, and young adults.

I made a similar comment to my black family members during the campaign, but it didn't cause them to see the hypocrisy of their blind support for Obama.
What can I say -- they're liberals. They can hold two opposing viewpoints in their minds simultaneously. It's part of the training, you know.
Using common sense, logic would tell you that the one category that disagrees with the other 26 categories is the group that is prejudiced.
Either that or we're all racists!!!
I know 2 white people who voted for Obama who couldn’t give a reason to vote for him, but IMO they voted for him so they could say “see I voted for a black man, I’m not racist”. I totally lost respect for them.

You rock. You are very important. I have many many black friends. Many are not Obama supporters. The stats are not correct. This is more disinformation. It’s really important for white people to know that Obama does not equal black. He doesn’t. In fact he is not black in any meaningful way. Eminem is blacker than Obama.

There are some black conservatives and I’ve met many. They have a tough time, some choose to keep it to themselves at family gatherings.
Blacks here should not be tribe driven anymore but they are very very racially subjective and xenophobic.
Sad thing is very few blacks are very politically astute....averge black IQ is the US is abysmal...culturally drive probably..and the homelife and upbringing..if any...most just vote for who will do something for them or so they are told. The radical Republicans started this promises promises thing in Reconstructiion...never delivered...and then the Dems under FDR appropriated it and have built on it with JFK, LBJ and now Bro has really poured the coal to it.

I don’t think so....had Obama been a Jesse Peterson he would have lost the black vote. He would have gotten a larger percentage being black than normal but still would have lost to a white liberal....no question

Unfortuntately latinos seem to be in the same pattern at a slightly lower rate....why they act this way is another discusion ...I think it goes back to more cultural implosion and illegitimacy and resentment against the non hispanic white culture here (by many, not all)

I've got to admit that the stat about blacks' support for Obama bothers me, and not just because it's so high. It also bothers me because I've personally seen a shift in support for Obama among some blacks.
I haven't sampled the views about Obama with enough blacks to get anything better than a hunch, but that hunch tells me that support for Obama among blacks has eroded somewhat since the campaign.
