As far as "acting unprofessional"...they acted entirely within their profession, capturing and killing terrorists. People get worse injuries in a high school football game than this guy got.

You guess wrong. We were drilled quite extensively on conduct and procedures regarding EPWs. Mistreatment was a big no-go.

They drop the guy off with the Iraqis, leave, and are ordered to get him back? So what transpired during the time he was in Iraqi possession? It's quite possible he could have gotten the fat lip then. The article doesn't say who this POS is blaming for the fat lip, but it's likely our SEALs, because of course he'd never blame any of his fellow muzzies for it. Let's put the blame on the infidels. How convenient.

I worked in uniform, in NY's prison system for almost 25 years, and having seen how problems like this can arise, I can't believe that photos of this guy weren't taken at the time of his capture, then again when he was dropped off with the Iraqis. It's all about covering your behind.

If he got the fat lip while in custody of our SEALs, who cares. But any further injuries to his body during the time he was in Iraqi custody would be proven by the photos of him before he left custody of our SEALs.

An "unnamed source" claims a master-at-arms sailor (who was assigned to guard Abed) told a SEAL platoon commander that one of the operators had punched Abed in the stomach. It was then reported by the SEAL platoon commander to the chain of command.
