Common Sense Conservative Debra Medina, Texas Governor Candidate Addresses 37,000 Illegals
570 KLIF ^ | 11/23/2009 | Jeff Bolton

Posted on 11/27/2009 7:33:39 PM PST by No Apologies in Texas

Debra Medina (R), candidate for Texas Governor, addresses illegal immigration and the fact that D.C. has announced the deportation of 37,000 illegals from other states through Presidio, TX. Current Gov. Perry sends handwringing letter to Janet Napolitano while border sheriffs are left trying to devise ways to block the 37,000 from swarming back over the border into TX, further destroying the economy.

I like her. I wish she’d get more press ... an soon.

Between Gov. Goodhair and KBH, unfortunately we need to go with Perry again.

We need more choice in this race and Debra Medina is a well grounded one.

This political season is very slow as I haven’t heard of any but Goodhair and KBH.

She supports the deportation just not dumping them right across the border from a small TX community without any support to take care of them when they come pouring back across the border. All hairgel Perry can do is whimper about that not being right. How about sending some NG troops down there to help out Rick?

Absolutely. She’s been talking to border sheriffs and others with boots on the ground working on solutions to the situation and knows those guys need SUPPORT to stop the illegal flooding across the border.

I like the Goodhair comment! HA! No, Medina isn’t beholden to deep pockets so mostly grassroots out there working like crazy trying to get the name out, not a big budget for TV ads at the moment. I know she’s taking donations!

Okay so you don’t work for or have any ties to the campaign? That’s okay if you did and if you did it would be best to be up front with it. I was just curious since the only post you made have been about her campaign since you signed on a few days ago.

If Medina is for shipping out illegal aliens and making sure the border is secure from future crossings...AND for less government, less taxation, and state’s rights...I could vote for her.

The only reason I’m up on Perry is because he ‘seems’ to stand up for state’s rights which is a must right now...(but why hasn’t he been screaming about the border already?)...and because KBH is a socialist hiding behind a big red ‘R’...

Debra is a HUGE 10th Ammendment, Property Rights, and Gun rights supporter.

Perry on the other hand tried the largest land grab in TX for the Trans TX Corridor (which leading straight to Mexico makes you wonder how much he wants to secure the border), tried to force people to give immunizations to their daughters for HPV against their wills, took dozens of children away from their parents with no proof of wrongdoing other than an anonymous phone call and spends about as much time in front of a camera as obama.

KBH is just another DC politician.

As to DEPORT, anyone who wants to post about Medina is fine by me. Do you ask everyone that posts about 1 topic if their on someones payroll?

Guess you missed Perry's attempt at "Operation Linebacker" several years ago where he tried to order the TNG to take on border security. The Feds actually blocked him from doing it as they claim it was out of his jurisdiction (claiming border control is federal only).

One one the things that really hurt Ron Paul was a bunch of his people signing up to post support for him then lying about it.

Don’t let that happen to you as you posting history doesn’t support your responses on this thread.

I am supporting Mrs. Medina, also. Being right up front, I will tell you that I did host a fund raising party for her in my home. At the time I agreed to do this, I didn't know much about her.

She convinced me and everyone who attended the meeting that she was the "real deal" as far as being a conservative is concerned.

We raised a bit more than $2000 for her campaign. Not a big sum, but this is the way she is raising money--going straight to the people with her campaign.

Basil I have no problems with someone promoting a candidate. It only seemed very strange about this signup posting only info about Medina, linking her web site and promoting funding. I really don’t care one way or the other but it would seem better if they were up front if in fact that is what this person is doing.

I know you’ve been here a long time and I think if you were promoting her like a campaign worker would I think you’d tell us. JMO.

First off — I am not a fan of Texas Governor Rick Perry. And I do not like nor support Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison...

While Debra Medina talks a good talk - and on the surface sounds pretty good... I have problems with her position on illegal immigration and Amnesty.

I have listened to Debra Media on radio recently and what I heard out of her mouth on the subject of illegal aliens were HEDGE WORDS... Medina made some pretty acceptable statements on border security - very good... But she called Illegal Aliens - Illegal Laborers... not a good sign.

Median also used the hedge phrase ‘no one has made a ‘commitment’ to solve the problem... I ask ‘what commitment? Commitment to do what? This is nothing but politico blather.... yada yada yada — Say what you really mean Ms. Medina or STFU.

In my opinion Medina is hiding her true feelings about fellow Hispanics... I believe Medina like most other politicians is worried about offending those who support illegal aliens and that Medina would support Amnesty for the 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. at the drop of a hat...

Bottom line - Medina has NEVER made a DEFINITIVE statement on her position in the matters discussed above - NEVER.

I believe Medina is at heart an illegal alien sympathizer. And unless she makes definitive and believable statements to the contrary - then Medina is what she seems to be... and that won’t cut it...... Signed — A Texas Voter

I have no idea who Debra Medina is related to...

I trust not a single politician relative to the subject of Illegal Aliens and Amnesty UNLESS that politicians makes full disclosure on that subject... And so far Debra Medina has made no such full disclosure on this subject matter...

Politicians who fail or refuse to make full disclosure on critical issues are just plain LIARS - until proven otherwise.

Who cares who posted what? Do you agree that there is a problem with the Feds dumping a ton of illegals right across the border of a small TX county? Do you agree that Rick Perry and KBH have done nothing to support that community in fighting off the onslaught of these illegals swarming back across the border? Debra Medina is not a politician so has no “record” of handling illegal immigration or any other “political” matter. She’s a nurse trying to bring common sense back to government. Stop trying to dodge the issues and steer things to whether the poster has enough experience on the site to justify their post.

I listen to Jeff Bolten several mornings a week. Jeff means well but he is a pussy - claiming to be a Conservative...

Bolten allows his so called conviction to religion to overwhelm his good sense... Softy Bolten always wants to see the value of the ‘Other Side’ on most every issue... but has no real ability to properly balance the delivery...

Bolton proclaims, all the while, that he is a staunch Conservative ... BALONEY I say ... There are times - when listening to Bolten’s softy blathering that I am convinced he voted for Obama...

Therefore I trust nothing that the so called ‘conservative’ Bolton presents.

Recently Bolton had a whole morning series for Gays, then another for women, etc., etc. — Not realizing that he was falling into the Leftist - Progressive Trap of ‘divide and conquer’ - Diversity for Diversity’s sake means everything... I kept wondering why Bolton just didn’t have panels of AMERICANS responding to the issues of the day... Sorry Diversity CRAP INDEED.

Basil,

On this thread alone No Apologies in Texas and Mac n Jac have done more damage to Medina than they realize.

Maybe it is enthusiasm, but them insulting long time conservative FReepers isn’t going to help Medina a bit.

From one Second Amendment Sister to another, you might want to take them under your wing rather than have them work against you.

A candidate needs 50% to avoid a runoff in TX primaries, so if conservatives vote for Medina it won’t lead to the RINO KBH beating the uninspiring Perry, but it could keep Perry from getting to 50% and throwing the race to a low-turnout runoff between Perry and KBH. Medina has no chance of making the runoff.

BTW, FWIW, Medina is an ally of Ron Paul.

Yeah. I’d vote for her if I was a Texan. She’s polling at 4% right so it’s hopeless barring a big change.

Texas freepers seem to loathe Perry but I have to prefer him to KBH. I hope she still resigns if she loses the primary. She might stay for the rest of her term.

As a Medina supporter I’m not going to be too worried about the polls until after the Christmas season (late January probably) when more people start to pay attention to the primary race. Furthermore, in this tea party environment I think the atmosphere is perfectly aligned for a genuine anti-establishment small government pro-liberty pro-Constitution conservative, especially with a little bit of last minute help from the blogosphere and talk radio, to very quickly emerge (like Hoffman in NY-23 last month) as a viable alternative to the mainstream, big-government status quo alternatives.

For me, the number one issue is which candidate is most willing to use the power of the state government to stop the federal government from enforcing some of the existing and any new unconstitutional regulations in areas such as agriculture, energy, education, healthcare, industry and any other areas where the federal government has no authority to involve itself under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.

KBH has no intention of lessening Texas’ subservience to Washington DC and Rick has had a decade to actively assert Texas’ sovereignty and done substantially nothing (except yap insincerely about secession) in that time. Debra on the other hand is making the nullification of unconstitutional regulations/legislation one of the main planks in her campaign for governor.

Once her campaign steps it up a notch in terms of visibility (I would assume in mid-January) with some radio/TV ads I would expect her to quickly jump into the teens in terms of support and then it’s a ballgame.
