I think part of the problem with FOX news, is they aren’t educated enough about the subject to ask the right questions...i.e., Aren’t the scientists in question the same scientists doing the “Peer Review”?

Tenure is not binding when a professor oversteps the bounds of the Faculty Code of Conduct. I know of several professors who were “let go” despite having tenure. I also know of some who were forced into early retirement when the university decided that they were no longer productive. Tenure has lost a lot of its meaning in the last 10 years.
