The Anglican Church in England has certainly become an embarrassment in recent years to the point of becoming irrelevant. I suppose in some way they might be trying to ingratiate themselves with their soon-to-be new masters the Muslims. There are lots of other reasons for a person to have a crisis of faith, I don't believe that fun and joyful Christmas carols are a big factor. I do not believe that modern Christians wish to become like Wahabi Muslims and suck all the fun out of life.
