No, you shouldn’t keep gold coins, jewelry, or even cash in safety deposit boxes. Do a google search. There is some consensus that the gubmint at some point might order the banks to only allow certain things to be taken out of safe deposit boxes.
Basically they are only safe for keeping papers in, nothing more. Whaddya gonna do if there is a run on banks and the gubmint closes all banks? You won’t be able to get to any of your valuables when you might want them the most, even if they would let you take your stuff out.
Safe deposit boxes put you at the mercy of the gubmint. Caveat Emptor.
