I have written to the trustee at the Alaska Fund Trust website (www.thealaskafundtrust.com) 4 times in the last 3 months. I asked her what the status of the fund was, because the last news I read stated that the fund was in limbo dealing with frivolous lawsuits accusing the fund of being illegal.
I wrote to the trustee (Kristan Cole) and said I was a contributor to the fund and would appreciate an update on the fund, and asked if the contributions made to the fund were of any help to Sarah Palin yet.
The last time I wrote to the trustee on November 17th, (trustee@thealakafundtrust.com), I informed the trustee that if I did not get a reply to my 4th email, I would post a vanity to see if anyone else would have answers to my simple question: What is the status of The Alaska Fund Trust and has it helped Sarah Palin yet?
Please note, the fund involved is not run by Sarah Palin. This is a fund that was supposed to help her with her legal bills.
I fully support Sarah Palin. "I am Sarah Palin" is a phrase I have used many times. If we can one day say "President Palin" I will be thrilled.
The website for The Alaska Fund Trust is still be taking money. However they do not seem to want to answer questions from contributors like me.
If anyone can shed light on the status of the fund, thank you very much. I have not seen a news article on the fund's status since summer.
Thanks in advance for any info you have on this.
Maybe Virginia Ridgerunner knows more... but AFAIK it is as you mentioned: the ethics complaint has effectively put it on ice. The issue is supposed to be resolved next spring.
Palin paid her legal bills from her own purse. The funds not used for her or the legal defense of her staff will be used for charity.
I would not advice to donate any longer to it.
Hope you succeed in contacting them.
As always, be careful who and what you give to. This may have absolutely nothing to do with Palin's defense, anyone can start a site and claim it is for one thing and pocket the proceeds.
“is still be taking money”
No, that’s not ebonics, it’s bad proof-reading.
Should read “is still taking money”
It also looks like Palin said she has never received anything from this ‘fund’.

Is still be taking money???? lol
www.thealaskafundtrust.com is the legit site. You are right with your warning of being cautious about such things, but the site of the Alaska Trust Fund is legit. The problem is as mentioned that “ethics complaints” have put it on ice well into 2010.
Thanks, that was just another of my typos in the vanity. I did email to the correct address all 4 times.
I had read about the fund here on FR. It seemed widely supported by Palin backers like me.
I am glad I did not give too much.
I was so eager to help defend Sarah from the many suits brought against her.
Thanks for noticing and flaming.(sarc)
In post 4 I tried to add flame retardant by correcting my mistake.
As noted in post 4, I am not into ebonics!
Cheers!
I have found one of the articles I read last summer about this fund. The fund’s trustee, Kristan Cole, spoke about the fund in this article found on the “Conservatives4Palin” website.
http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/07/trustee-kristan-cole-on-ethics.html
I also found on that site a video clip of Cole being interviewed by Greta Van Susteren on July 7, 2009. I did not view the clip due to my crummy dial-up connection.
I am hopeful this fund really is legit and is just jumping legal hurdles before it can be used for the purpose it stated.
From my search this evening to find a street address for Cole, it appears she is a real estate agent in Wasilla.
On the fund’s website or in a google search, I cannot find a street address for the fund.
Yes, but the one pertaining the fund is being reviewed and won’t be solved until 2010.
Gotcha. Thanks.
They took the defense fund down quite a while ago. Check with c4p.
sorry
Oh no need to be sorry at all. I was agast that I made such a funny mistake! I read my article before posting many times looking for mistakes. It is difficult to proof read those posts. The entry box where you write is even smaller than on these replies. Being a perfectionist, any mistake, especially one as funny as that one, is rather humbling to say the least!
I have no doubt made a few typos here too! It is not hugh, series, or stuning if that has happened! A beeber should go off when typos are made on FR!
See you on the “banglist”? I think we both like the gun threads, yes? Your name is very familiar.
Cheers! And keep yer powder dry!
Thanks for the info, I’ll check out the C4P website again. Just last night I went to the Alaska Fund site again it is still active and taking money. If the fund is no more, those in charge of it should get their act together and stop soliciting for donations. The site looks exactly like it has since the first time I went there.
I’ll take a better looky loo at the C4P site and see what else they have to say about things. Looked like a very good site from what I saw last night.
Thanks again, TCP
