6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

LOL... LGF is pro-government lunacy.

The man who once took Dan Rather to task for “fake but accurate” lashed out at Rush Limbaugh over manufactured quotes that appeared on wikipedia and said something to the effect that they “haven’t been proven to be incorrect”. The double standard arises.

Didn’t he also go from attacking the Islamic supremacist rhetoric (he’d even been the subject of emailed death threats from the staffer at some major news organization like an AP or Reuters) to now defending such groups and attacking the critics?

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see... climate change denialism...)

We deny the "TRUE" religion of Gaia worship and the original sin of man's conspicuous consumption. Pay your indulgence taxes to Al Gore's First Church of Global Climate Change and be absolved of your sins, Halleberry, A-Man-and-another-man!

3. Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)

NOW nags sold out the womens' movement when they supported Bill Clinton on allegations of serial rape, unwanted workplace sexual harassment, consensual workplace sexual affairs with the "secretary" (buying off her testimony with a six figure hush money job) all because he held the "politically correct" stance on abortion (which kills girls as well as boys, forces women to deny their their children, and leaves women maimed and sometimes dead from botched LEGAL abortions). Abortionists also work to cover up cases of statutory rape and sexual molestation. They are decidely PRO-rape, it's good for business.

Doesn't sound like "pro-woman" to me. Turn them into sexual playthings that can be discarded at the drop of $200 for another one night stand.

And those Islamists he now sides up with don't seem to be pro-woman to me. Strange bedfellows there.

Why is NOW so silent on the rising number of honor killings in this country?

I felt no longer welcome there when LGF had a long thread devoted to mocking Michelle Bachmann. She had given a speech about CO2 that posters felt was nonsense.

I see the Johnson thread is still in business. The Town Hall Meetings- Tea Party Movement riled him up and about four of us were banned when he went apeshit on an otherwise pretty useless thread. I really don't know if I was banned, per se, as my comment(s) still stood, but I couldn't log in anymore. It is very strange to watch a discussion group/ blog change to the extent where I, Mr. Reasonable, can become an 'extremist sockpuppet' by not changing along with them. Increasingly hostile is the key phrase here. Others are noticing this too. Sad.

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

Alex Jones isn't conservative. Alex Jones was a 9-11 truther.

Where is the "conspiracy theory" in creationism? The big religious "conspiracy theory" is in the DaVinci Code maniacs who insist that Jesus was not executed, lived to sire kids, and that the Church covered it up.

Climate "deniers" alledge criminal conspiracy and the evidence is bearing this out (they cooked the books and destroyed the raw data, at NASA they were caught using September temperatures for October to claim "warming" temperatures, and have not permitted peer review). Two people engaged in an underhanded act is by definition "conspiracy".

What are "Rush's conspiracies"? Or is simple name dropping good enough (like "Joe McCarthy!!!")

So anyway, this place started getting kind of weird. It’s like wall-to-wall evolution 24/7.

Evolutionists incorporated things like the Piltdown Man into their explanations of the origins of man. Kind of like the Global Warming Movement having some now acknowledged fraud in their "science".

All depends on where you place your faith and if you are being truly objective in scientific research.

As posted on the other LGF thread, Charles Johnson never was a right-winger. He said himself in a 2004 interview that he was "center-left". But 9/11 scared him enough that he chose to associate with a few righty types. Now, he's gone back to his roots.

While I see the occassional supporter of Pat Buchanan here, by far the only place that takes the old Nazi seriously is MSNBC.

Without MSNBC giving Pat a platform, he would have long ago retired to Argentina.

I’ve been on Free Republic for nearly 10 years, and I can’t even think of the last time I saw anything that could be described as “raging hate speech.” Maybe it was zotted too quickly for me?

I fall into that camp. I also believe liberals live in an alternate universe and think the world is flat, just ask them..
