I just do NOT get it.
The retirees in southern Nevada. Every time the GOP runs a candidate, Reid would campaign on “the evil Republican is going to cut your Medicare/Social Security/etc” scare campaign.
And it would work. Again and again.
Reid also likes to campaign as a “social conservative” in that he supports gun rights, claims to be against abortion (but always seems to weasel a way to vote for it), and tries to come across as an upstanding Mormon boy.
It never works well, but it has worked “well enough” since the mid-90’s that Reid is re-elected.
