MSNBC [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
reached a new shameful low tonight when Chris Matthews referred to West Point as an “enemy camp.” He was trying to convey his surprise that Barack Obama would go to such a place, somewhere, he said, where Paul Wolfowitz would be more comfortable.
Chris, he’s commander-in-chief.

The Text [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
A friend who knows text e-mails:
I encourage you to count the number of “i’s”
Me, me, me, me.
So defensive.
“As Commander in Chief...” He sounds like he’s pleading. “Don’t you know who I am?” Not reassuring, at all.

Howie Fineman (Newsweak) says it was good that TOTUS put a timeline and a "transparent" budget process to pay for the Afghanistan surge.
He said that without that transparency, the military would be asking for way too much money, "they always ask for a lot of money." And he said that the military always wants to escalate their mission.
I know that watching MSNBC tonight wouldn't negate the too-many calories I ate last week, but it did negate my supper tonight.
