Obama's Eeyore Act (The CIC who can not utter the word "victory")

....What has struck me most about Obama's Afghan enterprise—and his speech did not cause me to alter my view—is how obvious it is that he doesn't really want to do it. He wants to do health care. Obama has tried every delaying trick in the book—waiting for three months after Gen. McChrystal's request for more troops, having meeting after meeting after meeting, sending Gen. Jones to tell McChrystal not to ask for more troops, having his economic team say it will cost too much, framing the venture in terms of "exit strategies" rather than victory, etc. His ambivalence was on naked display tonight. Can you imagine Churchill delivering a speech like this, one so full of a sense of the limitation of national possibilities? No wonder Hillary—when the camera panned to her—looked like she needed a drink. No wonder the cadets all looked so depressed. Would you want Eeyore for commander in chief?

I know that I am not alone in thinking that this man wishes us to lose, because to lose will affirm all his hatreds of his adopted country.

Appeasers do not talk about conflict; they make wars into police actions and discourage words like terrorism...

“His ambivalence was on naked display tonight.”

treachery, not “ambivalence.....the “ambivalence” feigned is just a nice touch of theatrics tossed in for attracting any possible converts, and to mollify his lefties

He also set up the premise he can use to continue blaming Pres. Bush for at least nine more months. He can’t get the additional troops there until next June. Or July. Or maybe August.

What can you expect from someone whose world view is closer to Ward Churchill’s than Winston Churchill’s?

Seems to be very naive. He keeps lining himself up in the sights of both the left and the right on all issues.

Nothing in the middle of the political highway but dead possums.

I believe he is also a coward. I don’t agree with him, but worse, I do not respect him. He does not even have courage enough to act on his beliefs.

My biggest issue here is that Eeyore shouldn’t be used in such an unfavorable light. Eeyore Rules!

Everything else I agree with.

...one so full of a sense of the limitation of national possibilities...

That is the speech in a perfect nutshell.

Obama is the perfect anti-Reagan. And doesn't it just figure that he would be? Of course the left would foist on us a guy whose greatest skill is demoralizing the nation.

Being one of hundreds of thousands that served in Viet Nam I can tell you what this abomination of a president really said to the troops.

OK people I want 30,000 of you to get on the plane and go eat dirt for get shot at for18 months and whoever is left at that time can come home. Oh, and I dont want to hear any of that “do we get to win” stuff either. I’m smarter than all of you, I won the nobel peace prize, and have deliberated on this for three month. I am a experienced community organizer and Bush screwed the whole thing up anyway. I am the commander and chief now deal with it.... BHO

P.S. this better not screw up nationalizing health care.

My heart breaks for our groups that have to answer this call to nowhere may God protect them because their CIC wont.
