What’s the temperature supposed to be??
Exactly. When I hear that temperatures will rise by 2C, my immediate thought is about the baseline. How do we derive a baseline? What is the standard deviation (i.e., how much does it fluctuate)? Anyone who knows statistics or has plotted time series data knows about the power of picking the right time frame to show a trend.
From a scientific standpoint, I would be more concerned with rates of increase over absolute rises. Fortunately, we seem to be just fine.
