Officials say a sport utility vehicle that may have been involved in a police chase has crashed into an Indianapolis day care center. It's unclear whether any children were injured.
According to television reports, multiple ambulances were called to the scene of Stepping Stones Child Care on the city's north side around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Police Sgt. Matthew Mount says it appears that the SUV was involved in an armed robbery and was part of a police chase before crashing into the day care center.

What did the SUV do to make the po-po chase it?
If this happened on Tuesday, why don’t they know about injuries yet?
I’m guessing that’s a case of “reporter rush.” This apparently happened just a few minutes ago.
I am amazed at how many of these vehicles are on the loose, operating on their own, ie, without human drivers. You’d think their manufacturers would issue recalls to fix this obvious design flaw.
Maybe it has something to do with carbon footprints and endangered polar bears.

Car crashes into day care on northeast side

A vehicle involved in a police pursuit has crashed into a day care on the northeast side.
The accident happened shortly before noon at the Stepping Stones Child Care near 46th and Allisonville Road.
Police say two men in an SUV were wanted for the robbery of a Dollar General store. Officers recognized the red Jeep Grand Cherokee and began pursuit. The driver of the SUV lost control at a high rate of speed and crashed through a brick wall into the day care facility.
“It was utter chaos. This red SUV plowed into the building and I guess there was several children, it’s a day care center and several children were hurt,” said Leon Calderon, a tenant in the building. “They heard a big boom, they thought it was a gun went off or something.”
The car reportedly caught fire once it entered the building. Five ambulances were called to the scene.

Oh Christ...I pray that no kids were hurt or killed.
No doubt there were radical white Baptists or Catholics involved in the robbery.

Neither article mentions what happened to the perps. Who were they? What was their condition? If they weren’t killed in the crash I hope they were caught and go to jail for a long, long time.
Dang, I sure am glad the driver got out before that rogue SUV went on its rampage!

I have seen too many innocent people killed from police chases. I hope this perp did something really serious to warrant this chase and not something like no seatbelts.
