US (Obama) laments Honduras decision not to reinstate Zelaya

The US has said it is disappointed by the Honduran Congress's decision not to reinstate President Manuel Zelaya for his remaining two months in office.

Honduran lawmakers voted overwhelmingly against allowing ousted President Manuel Zelaya, who was removed from office in June, to serve out his term.

Conservative politician Porfirio Lobo won presidential elections on Sunday.

Several neighbouring countries say they will not restore ties unless Mr Zelaya is allowed to finish his term.

Following the vote in Congress, Mr Zelaya told the BBC: "This decision ratifies a coup and condemns Honduras to continue living in illegality."

Of the 125 members of Congress present, 111 voted against Mr Zelaya's restitution.

'Electoral fraud'

The US Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Arturo Valenzuela, said the US was "disappointed" as it had hoped Honduran lawmakers would reinstate Mr Zelaya.

No. The US actually rejoices that the wise people of Honduras told the marxists Zelaya, Chavez, and Obama to take a flying f***** leap.

0ba-Mao disappointed that another hoax he supported has fallen through.

Isn't this all just amazing?

Honduran Congress upholds coup with 111-14 vote.

Honduran Supreme Court upholds coup in unanimous decision.

Honduran people uphold coup in landslide election.

Honduran businesses still support coup.

Honduran RCC diocese stubbornly backs coup.

Mad Mel Zelaya, holed up in deserted Brazilian embassy, fighting against Israeli Mossad mind ray guns, decries coup.

Democracy is dead in Honduras! Aiyeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How wonderful this is true liberty at work with the Honduran people. Bless them for their orderly removal and change of regimes. Our current Gangster in the Castle would be worried about the ramifications.

We might want to start vacationing in Honduras. Anybody been?

Yeah, putting Zelaya back in office would be equivalent to putting Hitler back in office because he promised to be a Nice Boy.

In fact, I haven’t even heard that Zelaya has promised to be a nice boy. Dictatorship of the Proletariat (by which Marxists always mean ME) is more in his line.

The Kenyan continues to meddle in all the wrong places, and then plays possum with the wrong people.

He is one big ass mistake, America.

I have been saying all along that they should restore him to office for ONE DAY, the last one before Lobo takes office.

Funny thing is: Zelaya announced two days ago that he wouldn’t take the office back if it was for the interim term. So, in reality, the Congress just took him up on his word. Maybe they can define it as an act of kindness, saving him the embarrassment of having to decline formally.

What’s funny is watching the Obama Whitehouse tsk tsking while simultaneously running away from the moronic position it took as fast as it can. The Micheletti government has lived up to everything it promised in the agreement (which NEVER promised Zelaya would be put back in office). Zelaya has done everything possible to torpedo it since the day it was signed.

Wonderful country. Lots of Mayan treasures, especially Copan.
Butterflies, exotic birds, flowers, tropical paradise.

I really think Bambi is punishing these people because they based the Contras against the Sandanistas in Nicaragua.

Bambi is more aligned with Daniel Ortega, Hugo and all the other agitprop Marxists emerging south of the border.

Who knew there were still such creatures as courageous and lawful politicans. Our current crop would do well to take a lesson from Honduras. Sometimes a coup is the only answer.

...and the majority of Congress is from Zelaya’s own party. Country before partisanship... something else we could learn from Honduras.

I wonder if Obama will still be “lamenting” when the newly democratically elected President of Honduras takes office in late January. What will he want then? Blood?

There is of course, the inconvenient fact that *even if they thought it was a good idea* to reinstate the commie (which it’s not) doing so would be like signing their own death warrant.

Surprise, no takers.

Duh.
