(snip)
Why did I do this? I want my time to count. I want to be seen as someone who can solve a hard problem by working with my colleagues across the aisle. I want to do something that matters. I cant think of a better use of my time than to work with Democrats and Republicans to break our dependency on foreign oil, to create jobs for our next generation of Americans that will never go to China. And yes, leave behind a cleaner planet.

Your exactly right! They are across the aisle for a reason!!! Does anyone remember those who reached across the aisle over slavery? But yet who doesn’t know President Lincoln?

It is not about you, you attention-starved twerp. It is about doing the right thing for your constituents in particular and the nation in general.
If you had consistent principles and standards, you wouldn't be 'wanting' to do anything.

Aww, geez, you know, I wish these frigging clowns would just go away...
Traitors...any help to the Democrats is treason against the country. In spite of McCain’s honorable service - when he helps the Dems, he helps the very same ideology that jailed and tortured him. Is he stupid, or just trying to make sure he’s playing for what he thinks is the “winning side” (as Whittaker Chambers stated...). I can’t tell...
I seriously hope we can evict this duo (and Snowe, Collins, et al) before they can damage us any further.
Can Graham’s state recall and remove him? He’s vulnerable in 2010?

You know I really hate this liberal weasel Lindsey Graham.
I’d like to see a Tea Party in Columbia ASAP with a huge sign asking him to resign.

to create jobs for our next generation of Americans that will never go to China.Well that's certainly what Bama wants...Something we can do here that won't be farmed out to China...
Well it can't be anything industrial...And it can't be farming...
I guess we can all install weatherstripping to all the houses of welfare families...Well no, those jobs will be taken by our new immigrants from the south...
Keep thinking about it moron, maybe it'll come to you in a dream...

“...want to do something that matters,...And yes, leave behind a cleaner planet.
I read that quote in the excerpt above, and reflected on a woman in her twenties in a soft pink sweater, an empty expression in her eyes, and a smile upon her face.
She really means what she says, but doesn’t know a damned thing about what she is saying.
I believe I knew such a young woman in the 1960’s.
Some just never seem to grow up.
