A lot can be read into and said about Montezari’s replies. But, specifics are missing. What’s obvious is that he continues to advocate an Islamic State in Iran, though not the “fundamentalist group (regime?)” one.

I will only clarify:

>”(Inviting to the good and discouraging from the bad).”

is actually “Amr_e be maroof and nahi az monker” per your link in Persian. “Amr” literally means “ordering” or “enjoining” and “nahi” means “preventing” or “forbidding”. Not “inviting” and “discouraging”. It is one of the Islam’s principle pillars, and specifically refers to “Hossein” - the third Shia Imam.

Hossein is said to have died for Amre Be Maroof Va Nahi Az Monker in order to establish so-called social justice (Edalat) and pious leadership (Imamat). His death is mourned during “Ashura” in the Arabic month of “MOHARAM”. According to this principle a Muslim is under the obligation to order another to adhere to the Islamic ways and if ineffective take measures to prevent the unislamic act from taking place.

Therefore, Amr_e be maroof and nahi az monker is in no way related to and should not be in any way mistaken for Zoroastrian philosophy of “Humata, Hukhta and Hvarshta” often translated as “Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds”.
