Throwing scriptures at me doesn’t do any good either. I have read all those scriptures before, probably more than most born-again Christians ever have.

LOL!!

Yeah..those scriptures are just worthless....especially to someone who's read them more than "most born-again Christians ever have"

Hey, you can have the last word....

Colofornian never did respond to my following post when he brought this subject up in another Mormon bashing thread:

What Lutherans Believe: What About... Mormonism?

In order to understand the homosexual mindset and their agenda, you really should read “Goodbye, Good Men, How Catholic Seminaries Turned Away Two Generations of Vocations from the Priesthood” by Michael S. Rose.
http://www.cultureandfamily.org/articledisplay.asp?id=597&department=CFI&categoryid=cfreport

I know of no established religions nor youth mentor organizations whose doctines encourage the molestation of children.

I do know of a movement whose agenda was to “lower and eventually abolish all age of consent laws”.

That same movement also marched side by side with the child molesters from NAMBLA in their “pride parades” until it was discovered that doing so was harmful to their cause (read Kirk and Madsen’s “After the Ball, how America will conquer it’s fear and hatred of gay’s in the 90’s” to understand the massive PR movement behind the homosexual movement).

How the Catholic Church, or in this case, the Mormon Church, handled the molestation incidents is a matter for debate.

Most of those, on this board, who attack Mormonism, are guilty of what they accuse Mormons of doing, ignoring anything that make them look bad and cherry picking their facts.

If a Mormon commits some horrible sin, all the world must be warned about those evil, vile, paganistic spawns of Satan, but if a Mormon does something uplifting and inspiring, it must ignored or quickly denigrated. Also, if a “true” Christian commits some horrible act, it must be ignored or if it’s brought up, it becomes extremely important that red herrings are spread all over the place to distract everybody’s attention.

And for some unknown reason, I have never been able to figure this out, they often use the tactic of listing all the scriptures they believe support their position, but they never take the time to discuss why these scriptures support their position. What good does that do? I could do the very same thing, but it’s not worth the time to cut and paste the words of God and try to use them as a weapon.

A good Evangelical friend told me a long time ago, and I totally agree with her, “Why, when we are asked to be fishers of men, instead of using a net, do we use a trident.” I will never argue against her good advice to me.

You wrote:

I have seen born again ministers who have sexually abused little girls and little boys. I have seen saved ministers who robbed their flocks of tens of thousands of dollars. I have seen true Christians in the education system who have ab abused their students and then afterwards, their professed their love for Christ and that they were already forgiven because they were saved.”

You’re confusing true Christianity with hypocrisy.

By the way, you are aware that Elsie is an ex Mormon, hence her Mormon bashing posts. As far as Colonfornia goes, I’m thinking he just hates Christianity in general.

I knew one of the posters is an ex-Mormon with an axe to grind. I know some of those, people who leave the Church, but can’t leave the Church alone.

I don’t confuse Christianity with hypocrisy. I know plenty of great Evangelical/Mainstream/Biblical Christians here in the South. I’m just trying to point out to these posters that they need to change their tactics if they want to help bring Christ to others, because their anger, bitterness, and self-loathing sure aren’t doing it.

I keep asking them to tell me why they are right and not why I am wrong, but all they can do is to attack my faith. I’ve come to expect that. They need to start showing their lights from under a bushel and stop trying to blow mine out.

The Mormon’s made a lot of enemies when they successfully fought off the sodomites from defeating Proposition 8 in CA. I suspect that are a few sodomites in sheeps clothing on here that are taking pot-shots at the Mormons for that reason alone.

I for one, will be forever greatful to the Mormon’s for the sacrifices they made to defeat an evil agenda in CA.

“Mormons were particularly and systematically targeted for supporting Prop 8. One leading gay-rights activist in West Hollywood said, “The main finger we are pointing is at the Mormon church’”[57] Joe Solmonese, head of the Human Rights Campaign, echoed this sentiment on the Dr. Phil show when, in response to a question from a Mormon audience member asking why his church was being targeted, he reportedly declared, “We are going to go after your church every day for the next two years unless and until Prop 8 is overturned.”

You know...that is disgusting.

And a really creepy cheap shot to a lot of Freepers.

Looking at your two posts, I assume you’re talking about my reference to some people on here being sodomites in sheep’s clothing.

Is the Free Republic unpenetrable to the God-hating left?

I assume that there are a fair amount of libertarians on here as well. You know them, their parties platform supports liberal social policies (abortion, homosexuality, open borders, the legalization of drugs).

When I brought up the FACT that the Mormons fought tooth and nail against the sodomites on CA Prop 8, and have been targeted with a HATE campaign by the sodomites, where was the gratitude from those Freeper’s that were bashing Mormon theology all along?

No “cheap shot”, just citing the facts.

Feel like what Elsie? You pointed out that you were a Mormon at one time, that you disagree with their theology; yet you were mute when I brought up the fact that the Mormon’s played a huge role in helping Prop. 8 pass in CA.

Does your hatred of their theology overshadow the good deeds they’ve done for our country?
