And HOW would you know? FR is NOT the only place the “culture war” is fought.
I guess this “defense” of a sodomite threw me off...
What Lutherans Believe: What About... Mormonism?

Sorry, general whining does not constitute proof of any death threats or property damage....as a matter of fact, I found a death threat against Gloria Nieto, the volunteer political director for San Joses Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center who received them via email.
In any event, I’m defending the Mormon’s for two reasons. #1 is that they believe in God. There are too many people that follow the belief of “nothingism” in this country. We need not be overly concerned about a religion who believes the way to heaven is different than you believe.
#2 They successfully fought off the sodomites in CA (if you find yourself cringing when I use the word “sodomite”, you’re probably an ally).
You and your “sodomite” obsession, really.
And it is polite to ping a freeper when they are mentioned in a post.
And it is hardly a “defense” as you claim.
Thanks for letting me know where you stand in the culture war. I suppose I should show “respect” to the gay pride marchng drag queens and child molesters?
LOL...you’re well aware that I’m not here to be “polite” (being “polite” got us to the moral hell hole we’re in today).

Not in the least. Trust me I know far more about the damage homosexuality is doing to this country, and I have no love for them (other than the love of Christ). I grew up in a very high gay population where homosexuality affected everyone I know. My father was gay and I saw how it destroyed his life. I have seen it destroy the lives of my friends as well.
I knew more about the gay lifestyle by the age of 10 then most straight adults do in their entire lives. It repulses me and I have fought against the ‘normalization’ of homosexuality since my teens.
So don’t put me in your little box.
And politeness to freepers IS expected here. And fighting against heresy promulgated by the Mormon church in no way makes me “gay friendly”.
I suspected that a loved one in your life fell prey to the homosexual lifestyle.
My sympathies.
The next time you’re out and about and run across a Mormon, you might extend a friendly hand and thank them for taking an active part in California by not allowing homosexual perversion to change one of society’s valued institutions: the institution of marriage.
Your sympathies are not required.
Ironically, most of the LDS I know in CA (and there are many since I used to be LDS) and even a couple in Utah, support gay marriage. SLC did much to fight against Prop 8, and there were many LDS involved.
However, there is a group (not small) that support the idea of gay marriage because it means that polygamy will be next, and several “hard core” Mormons believe the LDS church should/will reinstitute it.
Also, in comparison, I know many churches who also fought against (very hard) prop 8, mine included.
It was not a one sided fight.
I usually agree that the LDS are conservatives, i do not fight them on that, instead I look to bring them out of bondage and into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I also believe that is the only thing that will cure homosexuality. I have seen that in person with a good friend.
As a pastor friend of mine says: “get your gay *** into church and let God deal with it.”
“Your sympathies are not required.”
Just trying to be “polite”.
“Ironically, most of the LDS I know in CA (and there are many since I used to be LDS) and even a couple in Utah, support gay marriage”.
I wasn’t aware that “most of the LDS you know in CA” speak for the entire Mormon community.
“The Mormon church has revealed in a campaign filing that the church spent nearly $190,000 to help pass Proposition 8, the November ballot measure that banned gay marriage in California.
While many church members had donated directly to the Yes on 8 campaign some estimates of Mormon giving range as high as $20 million ...”

If only we were dealing with individual homosexuals, and not a well organized, extremely well financed, politically backed movement that is glorified by the mainstream media.
You and your pastor friend might want to educate yourselves a bit more on the homosexual movement.

God can change a person’s politics too.
And I do understand and appreciate that you we being polite.
I just stated that they were not required, I did not mean to imply they were not appreciated.
FWIW, my father died 15 years ago from AIDS. Horrible way to die, even if contracting it was his own doing.
Provided one reads the word of God correctly. (I'm currently in HTML Sandbox training).
