So we just form our own not-for-profit news agency and make everyone an official reporter. We need a slogan. Any suggestions? How about ‘Confirmed, not contrived.’

Sounds like this amendment would violate the constitution. Where is the outrage by the opposition.

"If press freedom is a permission given to you by the government than its not freedom"

That is exactly what a democrat/socialist thinks a freedom is.... a regulated controlled taxed licensed nationalized permission.

Well, let's just see if the 1st amendment is strong enough to survive a bunch of chickenshit politicians.

They're really asking for it here.

SCOTUS would have a field day with this - besides violating the first amendment, I bet SCOTUS would rule that it violates equal protection under the fourteenth amendment ...

With the internet anybody can be a journalist. All you need is a free blog or even a facebook page to post your findings and observations.

Democrats trying to criminalize citizen journalism

Looks like the Dems are headed to the French model of government
licensing of journalists.
I’m not a journalist, but have heard this is why French journalism
leans so hard left.
If you don’t make it past the socialists running the licensing outfit,
you don’t do journalism.

Anyone that knows better or wishs to debunk/correct this post,
please feel free.
