Indeed; when I was in Pittsburgh for a cartoon fan convention I visited the John Heinz History Museum and there’s a bit dedicated to the late Senator’s work and you can see Ta-ray-za in some pictures.

Remember this? (Teresa had denied saying “un-American”
but it was caught on tape)

http://pittsburgh.about.com/b/2004/07/27/teresa-heinz-kerry-tells-reporter-to-shove-it.htm

>>Teresa Heinz Kerry told a Pittsburgh reporter to “shove it” after he questioned her on a remark made to a crowd of delegates and well-wishers at the Democratic National Convention yesterday. The wife of presidential candidate John Kerry made the comment, perhaps ironically, following a brief speech urging her home-state delegates to the Democratic convention to return a more civil tone to politics. Immediately after her speech, Teresa Heinz Kerry engaged in a brief discussion with Pittsburgh Tribune Review editor Colin McNickle, who badgered her on what she had meant by “un-American” in her statement, “some of the creeping unPennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics.”

>>Heinz Kerry repeatedly insisted that McNickle had mischaracterized her remarks. Then, after walking away briefly, she returned to the writer and said, “You’re from the Tribune-Review — understandable. You said something I didn’t say. Now shove it.”

>>The conservative Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s editorial page has been generally critical of the Kerry campaign. According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the newpaper’s publisher, Richard Mellon Scaife, “is a longtime contributor to conservative causes

Irony: she wants a more civil tone then tells a reporter to shove it. She was clearly caught in a lie. She DID say un-American.

Since it’s Christmas time and the ketchup heiress is
being discussed, here was my 2004 parody of a Yuletide
classic:

Have yourself a Kerry Little Christmas
Cozy all the way
While the seat of power is so far away
You’ll be just one more lib in the Senate
Thanks to W
You won’t live on Pennsylvania Avenue

Ketchup heiress has lots of dough
Lots and lots of dough, to spend
It won’t buy you the White House though
For the voters know, my friend

Mondale, Gore, and also Mike Dukakis
Know just how you feel
When you’re seen, you just have got no appeal
So have yourself a Kerry Little Christmas, now

It's that charming tolerance liberals have for people who are different than they are that makes them sooooo lovable. /s
