Baucus Nominated Girlfriend for U.S. Attorney

A spokesman for U.S. Sen. Max Baucus says the Montana Democrat was in a romantic relationship with the woman he nominated for U.S. attorney.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus was already involved with his girlfriend and former staffer when he recommended her earlier this year to become the next U.S. attorney for Montana, a spokesman said.

The Montana Democrat and his former state office director Melodee Hanes began their relationship in the summer of 2008, after Baucus separated from his wife, Ty Matsdorf told The Associated Press late Friday.

Baucus nominated Hanes for the U.S. attorney post in Montana in March. But she later withdrew, saying she had been presented with other opportunities she couldn't pass up.

It has gotten so bad in Washington that important issues are only sideshows.

CONGRESS ITSELF, THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH AND LOBBYISTS ARE THE BIGGEST ISSUES.

These people have seen to it that the voting booth has failed us. All the alternatives are very ugly, but IMHO, absolutely necessary to preserve the virtues of our country.

"A spokesman for U.S. Sen. Max Baucus says the Montana Democrat was in a romantic relationship with the woman he nominated for U.S. attorney."

"The wife of Montana Democratic Sen. Max Baucus has been charged with assaulting another woman following a Tuesday night dispute over mulch at a Washington, D.C., garden center."

They're all crazy!! But STILL, not as crazy as Pelosi.

VP Biden’s son became AG and Biden’s arrogance wanted him to take his senate seat. What’s better than having your like minded buddy Eric Holder as attorney general? Your son.

Joseph Robinette “Beau” Biden III (born February 3, 1969) Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beau_Biden#Political_career

In his first bid at political office, Biden ran for Attorney General of Delaware in 2006. Biden won the election by approximately five percentage points.

A article of a local CA politician’s son was in the paper. John Garamendi,ex state insurance commissioner, his son got out of Berkeley and immediately was placed in high paying board and employment positions. No experience whatsoever.

There is a reason in business many companies do not allow nepotism. Only in politics can you line up friends and family members who will protect everything you do.

Phew, what a great ‘representative’ of the people!

“The bigger story here, if anyone is brave enough to investigate it, is whether someone within the Obama administration, the DNC, or some other Communist group had attempted to blackmail Baucus over this “tidbit” in order to convince him to get back in line with their Marxist-Socialist agenda...”

That sort of behavior would be shockingly unethical... Oh.

This sounds like it is potentially more serious than the Foley “scandal” which didn’t involve any real sex nor were there any job offered, if I recall correctly. Yet that was turned into some huge scandal where every other Republican for whatever reason got tarred, as absurd as that was. It certainly helped the Dems win the House. With Baucus however I suspect he and his party will suffer no consequences.

If you read closely, it says she got her position with Baucus based on merit. I wonder which position?
