To: Kfobbs

So, why should we ask for God’s blessing of the national “indivisible” government? Why should we pledge allegiance to a system of theft and slavery? My preferred poem is “God bless America - land that I love...” - it’s the country I love, not this ridiculous gangster government. Get the pledge out of schools altogether!

I’ve never understood the rationale for the pledge myself. It seems a ritual more associated with totalitarian states where loyalty has to be drilled in ratyher than grown. I’m a patriot, but if anyone tried to compel my kids to take a similar pledge they’d soon be getting short shrift from me.
