Chicago Man Charged in Mumbai Massacre
Jawa Report ^ | December 7, 2009 | Rusty Shackleford

It started as an odd case of the FBI raiding a meat packing plant with hundreds of agents and now it's morphed into something much bigger. I've been telling you for weeks this was coming. I guess it just seemed too hard to believe that an American was involved. Originally David Headley was only charged with plotting to blow up the newspaper in Denmark that published the Mohammad cartoons. That plot seemed rather amateurish and was thought of as aspirational. But it soon became obvious to any one paying attention that Headley also had a hand in India's worst act of terror this decade.

The importance of this being that radical Islamists are now using their American passports to bypass suspicion that would normally be put on them if traveling under, say, a Pakistani passport. They are using their American citizenship to plot and execute terrorist plots abroad.

And this is not too fine a point to make either for Headley was originally born Daood Gilani and only changed his name to make it sound less Muslim and more flyover country American. He also admits he did this to make international traveling easier.

Up until now we have only seen cases of individual Americans joining terror groups abroad. Americans have also been involved in planning failed terror plots at home. But Headley would be the first case of an American actually involved in the planning of a major terror attack abroad.

Think about that. An American involved in international terrorism abroad. That's a big deal and a far cry from our template of what the usual suspects would look like.

Also, lest our neighbors in the Great White North feel left out there's a Canada connection too. Headley's accomplice -- the man who's business Headley used as a front to conduct his terrorist surveillance activities abroad -- is named Tahawar Rana and is a Canadian citizen.

The business which was really a front for terrorism? An immigration service that helped foreigners get US work visas. Think about the implications of that...

...it is clear that Headley had prior knowledge of the Mumbai attacks. After each time he went to Mumbai he returned and reported to his LeT handlers and an accomplice in Chicago. He even helped LeT decide where best the seaborne attackers should land for the assault.

If that wasn't bad enough the presser also mentions that Headley had scoped out a number of other locations for the LeT. You'll recall that just after the Headley-Mumbai connection came under suspicion that the Indians put all nuclear facilities in that region under lockdown.

And as I've written previously, Headly solicited terror groups in Pakistan for help. That is, he went to them looking for help in the Danish-Mohammad-cartoon-plot. It was his idea. So, I'll ask the question one more time: What if an American Was the Next Khalid Shiekh Mohammad?

I find it ironic that the world's bureaucrats are in Denmark busily hand wringing over the potential of carbon killing hypothetical people in the future (pop quiz: name one person killed by global warming?) while at the same time Islamists are actually plotting to kill them in that very country. DOJ press release...

Again, I ask, why are these people in our country?

No relation to Roland, although they do think alike. This guy is a Pakistani whose original name was Daood Gilani. Shouldn’t have been here in the first place. Needs to have his citizenship stripped and to be shipped back to his native hell hole, where I am sure they will come up with an excellent plan to deal with him.

Think about that. An American involved in international terrorism abroad.

So let's try him in criminal court, shall we? Same level of justice we now seek against foreign agents who terrorize American targets.

“The business which was really a front for terrorism? An immigration service that helped foreigners get US work visas. Think about the implications of that...”

“Again, I ask, why are these people in our country? “

Because the Open Borders wing of American politics, which includes Republicans as well as Democrats, is more interested in globalized trade than with American security.

It’s going to take a WMD event directly linked to our indifferent immigration system before anything will be done about it. Bush had the chance on September 12th, but he was more interested in prosecuting border patrol agents than in deporting illegals.

Our politicians let him and his kind into the country for the sake of diversity.

Thanks barry along with your pals, in dumbing down FISA and American foreign and domestic intelligence in general. Terrorist trials in NYC were excellent too /s. Where’s the BC?
