I saw William Shatner in a restaurant in Hawaii once eating with his brother and brother's family; they had scuba dived that morning.

Shatner looked white-bread normal and called no attention to himself whatsoever. The only reason we recognized him is that he said something kind of loud and I immediately recognized the James Kirk voice. I think we might have been the only ones there who recognized him other than the waiter who saw his credit card and confirmed his identity to us.

I always liked James T. Kirk and it was fun to see him enjoying life off the Enterprise.

A friend and I were at a Border’s Books in Louisville a few weeks ago and we bumped into Shatner (literally in my case). He and a friend were in the history section, trying to pick out a book on World War Two in the Pacific. I recommended they try “The Eagle Against the Sun”, so they checked it out, thanked me for my advice, and headed over to pay for the book.
