MSNBC: Crowds lined up at each stop on the “Going Rogue” tour were told no personal photos with Sarah Palin were allowed. Instead, the Palin camp offers their own photographer, who will take the picture and then sell it to fans.

Palin is a believer of market-based system. If the people did’t want to buy the pictures taken by the Book tour promoters ... then no one could coerce them to buy the same.

This way people are sure to get a nice picture and Sarah doesn’t have thousands of pics out there of her blowing her nose or cleaning her eyeglasses and things like that.
I know some music stars do this on “Meet and Greets” because it keeps things moving. If people have to fumble with cameras they always have difficulties and holdups. If the celebrity’s personnel take the picture its fast and quick and the line keeps moving. I presume the cost is nominal.
