GLSEN’s stated mission is to empower gay youth in the schools and to stop harassment by other students. It encourages the formation of Gay Student Alliances and condemns the use of hateful words. GLSEN also strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying. To that end, GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list of books that it claims “furthers our mission to ensure safe schools for all students.” In other words, these are the books that GLSEN’s directors think all kids should be reading: gay kids should read them to raise their self-esteem, and straight kids should read them in order to become more aware and tolerant and stop bullying gay kids. Through GLSEN’s online ordering system, called “GLSEN BookLink,” featured prominently on their Web site, teachers can buy the books to use as required classroom assignments, or students can buy them to read on their own.

If Kevin Jennings is not the type of person you want leading our schools below is a petition which will send an email for your to the State Superintendent expressing the need for his removal and for upward pressure. You can also let you federal Congressman and Senators know they should add their names to the letter.
I’m glad to see this is spreading. I saw it in an earlier thread with a link to another website (late last week). I read some of the excerpts from the books on Mr. Jennings’ “must read” list and prmptly sent a letter to my useless, Obama lap-dog, senators, Mr. Jim “Capt. Porno” Webb and Mr. Mark “the Affable Android” Warner:
Dear Senator _______ :
I am writing to urge you in the strongest possible way to immediately begin doing everything in your power to see to it that Mr. Kevin Jennings is removed from his position as our so-called “Safe Schools Czar”. You owe it to the people of the Commonwealth you represent to rid our federal government of this most vile and disgusting individual.
This morning I had the nauseating experience of reading excerpts from some of the books Mr. Jennings advocates be read by Middle and High School students in the United States. He and the organization he founded, GLSEN, enthusiastically recommend this “literature” as required reading for Middle and High school children as part of learning tolerance towards gay and lesbian individuals
After reading only a few passages from several of the books it became obvious to me that the goal of GLSEN and Mr. Jennings is NOT to bring about tolerance for gays and lesbians, but to systematically, and if necessary forcefully, expose our children to graphic sexual images at the earliest age they can get away with. Based on his past writings, statements and behavior, I was already quite concerned that Mr. Jennings is a sexual pervert and possibly a pedophile. The revelation regarding the “literature” he favors for our children has done nothing but strengthen that suspicion.

Please, before you write this issue off as another case of some “right wing wackos” gunning for an Obama appointee I urge you to READ the report. While you may believe it has a partisan tone, the actual excerpts from the actual books Mr. Jennings urges teachers to have in their classrooms as required reading are NOT made up. If you have a strong stomach I ask that you to read some of them. I think you will be quite disturbed by their content. In the interest of fairness, I also encourage you to visit the GLSEN web-site for yourself. There you can read the effusive praise these vile people heap upon the pornographic writings they endeavor to force on our children.
If you set aside politics and think only about what is good and correct for our country’s children, I think you will conclude that Mr. Kevin Jennings does not belong within 50 miles of a CHILD, never mind sitting in a White House office endeavoring to set education policy for our nation. The correct action to take regarding Mr. Jennings should be abundantly clear to you: GET RID OF HIM AND GET RID OF HIM NOW!!! Our children are powerless to stop his evil influence but you are not. Please do not abandon them to the likes of Mr. Kevin Jennings.
I will be monitoring your web-site in the coming days and weeks for a press release regarding the decisive action you have initiated to rid our country of this vile creature.
Finally, I ask that you please respond to this message with more than just the usual “I value my constituents’ opinions and will take your comments into consideration” form-letter. This issue is too important for political nonsense – PLEASE take action on it at once.
