I saw it said somewhere that “Incompetence, sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from malice.”

This is a non-issue. Another security breach that is far more deserving of a thorough investigation is in regards to who it is that egregiously stole those confidential global warming climate change e-mails.

I believe this stuff has to be deliberate.

Oh, I doubt it. Someone malicious would steal the manual and surreptitiously get it to the enemy without raising any alarm about it. But now, they'll just change things to try to make the old manual useless.

That's the really neat thing about computers... in the old days it took a lot of effort to make a mistake of this magnitude. But nowadays all sorts of devastating screwups are only one tiny keystroke away. :-)

The document outlines who is exempt from certain additional screening measures...the mayor of Washington, D.C

Wouldn't want to find his crackpipe.

...they want our medical records too. Wait till they post them on the net.

India is working hard at just that.

Well, it revealed that people with a cast, in wheelchairs, in military uniform, etc all, are NOT screened. Don’t you find that alarming?

I've seen plenty of people in casts and wheelchairs being screened. I think it must have to do with age. If they're under 80, they get a pass. It's those sneaky old people ya gotta watch out for. As for the military uniforms...The average TSA agent wouldn't be able to tell a military uniform from a doorman's jacket.

TSA, the retarded step-child of DHS.

This could lead to a repeat of 9/11, only it will be 0bama’s fault.

Here’s what bothers me about this story....

....it’s tempting, perhaps even planned as I don my tin foil hat, to toss this off as part of the Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight or gubmint ineptitude.

But go with me on this, we recently had a fellow who was in the U.S. army who was preaching Jihad to army guys, communicating with a known terrorist and who eventually shot and killed twelve people at Fort Hood army base. All right under the nose of the army for God’s sakes!

So what if a Jihad fellow in the Dept of Homeland Security, a department all busy looking out for dangerous tea party attendees by the way, tells his terrorist buddies all over the world...

“hey, no prob Bro? You need info on the U.S. security on airplanes? I’ll just put it up on the TSA web site and if you download this program right here, all of the redacted parts will...poof, show up. Just like magic!

That way I don’t have to get all involved with mailing out stuff and the public will be none the wiser.”

That program and this whole kerfluffle was discovered, by the way, by a BLOGGER!

TSA = what a joke.

Wheelchair and scooter cushions, disabled people's footwear that can't be removed, prosthetic devices, casts, braces and orthopedic shoes at certain times may be exempt from screening for explosives.

Have they never heard of Richard Reid, the "shoe bomber?"

Meanwhile, the House Homeland Security committee is busy holding hearings to ensure we are never threatened by WH "party crashers" again.

FWIW, I wouldn't put total faith in FAA either.

Trust me, these are not “old rules”.

The TSA simply adds ammendments to the original rule book whenever they make changes. I have worked with these types of documents before.

Somebody is trying hard to cover this mess up....

Has any one seen the paper? Does it have guideline to search old ladies and women with babies and not to search anyone with dark complexions?
