Agreed, it was used in brackets as a means of word capture, the only insinuation of Obama being a Messiah is the one that Him and His team suggest, I abhor the insinuation.

I didn’t say the science was settled.

With thousands of eye witnessess and at least 40 photos and videos from numerous sources and angles that I have glanced at, yes - the event is not in doubt.

Just like the red lights hovering in New Jersey last summer that were witnessed and photographed by dozens of folks - and no doubt covered by Coast-to-Coast. Turns out they were flares suspended by ballons or something as a hoax. BUT - the event itself (red lights in the sky) was real.

I'm mostly kidding so if that wasn't clear then I'm sorry.

Still I have real problems with the description of the cause of the event and the visual evidence is pretty unconvincing to me. YMMV. :0)

I'm content to wait a few days and see what comes of this before I make up my mind.

It has nothing to do with missiles. It is just another case of people believing anything...

And I’m surprised that no one has brought up crop circles in the sky yet.

While on the other thread, a person with first-hand experience firing missles gave an accurate and reasonable descirption/explanation of a missle launch gone awry.

However, a brief search of images on failed missle-launches brought up a few images, but nothing that came close to the perfect spiral on this one image. I recall a year ago there was a thread on images in the sky caused by ice particles that created a variety of pretty and astounding light displays. They weren’t moving though!

I guess I’ll wait and see too!

It was at that moment I realized I was right, and this big, ugly wookie was as delusional as her blue lipped, smelly, Muslim, Marxist husband.

The Russkis have officially confirmed it was a failed Bulava from their Typhoon sub Dmitrij Donskoy. The first two stages worked, but when igniting the third stage the rocket suffered a structural failure and deviated from its course.

With 11 failures out of 12 launches things are looking up for the American side in the current disarmament talks. And the Russians won’t have a counter to the planned missile shield.

Does the "trajectory" implied by the blue-green, tighter spiral, corkscrew contrail, "beam" or whatever, conform to a logical location for a Russian submarine?

I'm referring to the most widely viewed, vivid image of the phenomenon, that would seem to indicate a source for the visual effect just beyond the mountain range.

If it does, I'm still very curious about a blue-green luminescent contrail, and what sort of rocket fuel would produce it.

Somebody wanted this to be seen. It was certainly too showy for some secret military test, and the timing is just too interesting.

The trajectory seems to point towards the White Sea, which is also where the Russians sent out a launch warning, and is also where the Russians have admitted to a launch.

I have no idea about the rocket fuel.

No doubt they wanted it to be noticed, but probably not in such a spectacular manner ;) The US and Russia are currently negotiating nuclear disarmament after START just expired. The Bulava is intended to be the main weapon of the boomers the Russians are currently building as well as an answer to the planned US missile shield. In short an attempt by the Russians to regain status as a nuclear power. There was another failure about a week ago, but the timing in this case may also have been intended to give Obama something to think about. The Russian denial at first is not surprising given the implications for the disarmament talks. Sometimes gambles don’t pay off.
