It puts Western civilization into perspective, though. And when you read about what the Australian aboriginal children were going through, the decision to place them with English families was not the oppression of empire that detractors make it out to be.

I do think we are a lot closer to being a Chavez Venezuela than we are to a Washington/Jefferson representative republic.
