This did not really happen. Time compression only made it seem like these pics are real.

When Vandenberg let off a Minuteman about 7 few years ago, I could see the contrail from San Jose, CA.
I'm reminded of that when I see this photo.

No, it was a very imperfect spiral, and as the contrail ascended thru the atmosphere it gave off all the colors of the rainbow, like a prism. I was told it was due to the way sunlight hit the earth's atmosphere.
It went up approx. 100,000 feet. I was amazed I could see that far, but it helped that the sun had gone down at my locale but was still shining on the contrail.

A Russian missle with a bad stabilizer flying away from the viewer in a cork screw pattern.
It’s not a spiral, it’s a cork screw. Just perspective as the missle flies away.
