There are VERY FEW green tech jobs currently. There are not going to be a lot of green tech jobs in the future. And even if there were, they are NOT going to be located in the United States. The morons in government have been on a 30 year rampage against US Manufacturing and they have driven out so much of it.

Immelt is a clown and a fool at best and a scum bag and worse at worst. He's a technological idiot and yet he's running one of the biggest high tech companies in the world. Go figure how company politics works.

If government subsidies were removed the entire Solar Power and maybe even the Wind Industries would collapse. They provide a very tiny amount of energy and will not provide much more for at least the next 20 years and probably longer than that if ever.

I never argue about the fraudulent new energy economy on the basis of jobs created. It is easy to create jobs. We have had societies with almost no unemployment (we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us). The issue is the cost of the jobs created. The fraudulent new energy economy will create thousands (millions?) of jobs, many in regulating every aspect of economic production. The cost of these jobs will be catastrophic, causing work to relocate, prices to increase, lower economic production, higher taxes, and a much lower standard of living. The jobs created will be highly visible, creating a new powerful special interest group. The resulting economic carnage will be difficult to attribute to specific policies but it will be very real.
