“Significant because the rights given by the Creator cannot be taken away by anyone but the One who gave them.

If our rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness don’t come from the Creator, then who/what do they come from?”

Well stated! Consider that after World War ll the allies wanted to prosecute the Nazi war criminals. However, in regards to killing the jews and concentration camps and all, it was a fact that those were legal acts within the laws of the government of Germany. The men who carried out those horrific acts were literally abiding by the law of the land. It was decided that they would be tried under “Natural Law” which is basically replication of what God’s laws are. Natural Law transcends man made laws. This includes the right to life, hence the Nuremberg trials were able to proceed on a legal basis that made sense.

I think today, we have lost the legitimacy of recognizing God’s Law and are suffering for it. Just as the Germans did.
