Posted on 12/12/2009 6:34:23 AM PST by Scanian
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. Thats the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President (see trends).
The 25% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Thats partly the result of declining enthusiasm among Democrats. While Democrats continue to offer their approval, just 43% Strongly Approve.
Among all voters, 36% now believe that the president is doing a good or an excellent job handling the economy while 45% rate his performance in this area as poor. Seventy-one percent (71%) of Democrats say hes doing a good or excellent job on the economy while 74% of Republicans say poor. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 52% give the President poor marks when it comes to the economy.
On national security matters, 39% rate the presidents performance as good or excellent while 36% say poor. Most voters nationwide lack confidence that NATO will do its part to help in Afghanistan. The Presidents new plan for Afghanistan draws mixed reviews from voters.

one more time: -16Bam!!
You made my day! :)
More bad news for the socialist muslim from Kenya.
I wonder how much of this downtrend is from the heavy-handed EPA maneuver...
Congratulations, Zero...a new record! -16!!!
It will hit -20 by the end of January.
...mine too! :^)
Thanks for the exclamation point in the title. 16! That is hugh!
If not sooner.
Added to ‘breaking news’ sidebar.
Won’t matter. He had the independents in ‘08 but he won’t have them in ‘12. Palin will.
I thought his little Oslo half-assed, pro-America speech might help him but I’d hazard a guess that it pissed the peaceniks off and had practically no effect on everybody else.
Overall tabulation shows the nearest to this -16/25% was end of August at -14/28%.
What was going on then?
Looks like the exact crossover point from + to - for Ras’s wierd metric was exactly July 4.
Pray that America has come to its senses. Pray that this man cannot do any further harm to our country. Pray that American values and its freedoms will outlast this assault on the greatest country on Earth.
GOOD MORNING!!!! unless you are an odumbo supporter
Worst. President. Ever.
It made mine too, after two days of gloomy weather in W Central FL!
I don’t think Hussein was ever -15. He’s been -14 before, but this (-16) is at least a two-point jump from his previous low, I believe.
I wish these guys would overlay all the other presidents’ numbers on these graphs. Or normalize them to Carter!
My understanding is that this is based on a three-day average...it would be interesting if Rasmussen would tie each three-day cycle to these numbers; so we could ascertain what event(s) might have precipitated these poll numbers. (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday = Saturday?)
Does anyone else think that Americans will pretty much stop spending after Christmas and the whole economy will grind to an almost-halt?
That'll do wonders for The 0ne's ratings.
Town hall/tea party time
November 24 and 25 were -15.
Ahhhh, a nice piece of news. I wasn’t expecting this today.
The Oslo speech cost him 2%, nearly all from the Left.
Thanks for posting.
Check the chart...he has been at -15 several times. Go back to January 21st if you want to see a figure you’ll NEVER see again...+28. Down 44 points in less than a year..? Wow.
Keywords “Rasmussen” and “Skippy” added. :)
You’re right. Thanks for the correction. It’s also important to note that 0 has been in DOUBLE NEGATIVE DIGITS for four straight weeks now (since Nov. 16).
How’s Gibbs gonna spin it this time?!
That illiterate moose-killing woman from Alaska is behind all this, you know... /s
Means absolutely nothing right now as the demoncraps in congress are pushing through their diabolical plan to take over our lives. HOw’s that approval rating helping to stop it? It isn’t, so far. And of course, we will always have 25% of the people be morons to support a man because he’s harbors socialist ideas or because he’s half black (I always joke with my black customers how they are liking the first half white president! They get a kick out that).
He is boring. He's boring, boring, boring, boring, boring.
Among those not affiliated with either major party, 52% give the President poor marks when it comes to the economy.
The obvious answer is to KEEP UP WHAT WE’RE DOING!
More Tea Parties, more town halls, keep the information barrage against this administration going!

I think he’s getting close to the bottom level of the “strongly approve”. For his numbers to get much worse, the number of “strongly disapprove” will have to grow larger.
Beyond HUGH, ITS SERIES!
“Hows Gibbs gonna spin it this time?!”
He’s coming up a few crayons short ... and, I think even the MSM is tiring of it.
Hallelujah! What a day maker!
I appreciate the effort, but note that Obama’s chart only goes to July. So it’s five months out of date.
But the media told me he wowed the country with his Nobel Peace speech!
That’s the kicker. The 41% disapproval figure is not simply disapproval, but STRONG disapproval.
The absolute numbers don't mean anything to me.
The overall trends now relative to other terms is what interests me.
