I know that everyone is saying that they go winter camping, but seriously, with a two and four year old, ALONE?
Camping with kids, cool.
Frozen winter camping with a two year old and a four year old who has to go potty NOW?
No flippin’ way.
Older kids I could understand, but the kids are 2 & 4.
It is crazy to take a 2 & 4 year old camping, in freezing weather.
And then the cops couldn’t find the area and the guy claims that “snow covered it”.
I will be VERY surprised if this guy isn’t charged.
And she didn't run away either. Not with Christmas coming up.

He was clearly lying.....sort of doing a Clintonesque tear.
But of course the investigators will have to nail down the physical evidence and am sure they will do so.
It’s still okay to make an evaluation before all that evidence is in. There is some evidence in - his “alibi” and his own comments and the fact reported that he and his wife were having marital problems.

when you put it that way....it’s even more unlikely than I first thought.....
Also it just reminded me of the sicko in our area who is in prison awaiting trial for killing his wife. He drove around their neighborhood WITH HIS TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN HIS CAR supposedly looking for his missing wife.....when all the time he knew where her body was...because he had killed her and dumped the body there.
Just upped the husband to “person of interest” status.
That (almost always) means they are just waiting on enough evidence to charge him.
Oh that’s just sad.
There are few elemental conditions which are not survivable if you are not injured, especially if you are properly equipped.
Properly equipped includes knowledge first and foremost.

This follows almost exactly the pattern in our local creep’s arrest. He became a “person of interest” and they kept interviewing him. Finally they arrested him and charged him with murder. He is still awaiting trial.
I would bet the police are stationed at his house or wherever Powell is right now. It won’t be long before he is arrested, we can hope.
Yes it is sooooo sad.
Fortunately, the wife’s parents and sister (who are Canadian - she was Canadian) got custody of the children shortly after their daughter/sister was found murdered (even before the husband was arrested) and they have kept custody even after a later court battle.
This lady’s precious little ones - I just hope that they have loved ones who will take them in and take care of them - praying they do.
Again, the best thing I can say is that at least he did not kill his children.

I hadn't heard of that Peterson....I was referring to that smary smartass cop in the Chicago area whose young wife disappeared, but he eventually got arrested for the murder of an earlier wife.
I wonder how ole Drew Peterson (let alone Scott) is doin’ in jail this holiday season?

Did they finally charge Drew with murder? I know there were some other charges.
I think so...for the earlier wife that drowned in an empty bathtub. Chicago cops finally got the picture.

Even DH (a lawyer) who is usually first to cry “innocent till proven guilty, dear” at me, read this and went, “he’s guilty”.
With 2 & 4 year olds? During storm conditions?
Most likely he took the children with him while he disposed of the body (rather than leaving them home alone).
