I think she has matured from everyone on the left and right trying to destroy her. When they are coming at you from all sides you either get out or get better. IMHO, she got better.
I’m with you on this and don’t understand what was so great about the well-rehersed sketch.
The more public she becomes the more folks love her - on both sides of the isle. She can charm the most jaded “progressive”.
She walked on stage and read some stuff from Bills book.
Smiled
Walked off stage
A perfect Presidential candidate. Looks good, reads someone elses words, knows when to leave...Oh wait. We have that now.
Thanks, that was great. Sarah is GREAT! I’m amazed that the left really hates her so much. I’ve got friends (?) that hate her. They just despise her even though she has more brains and real qualifications than the Obammy man(?), I mean the sissy poofter POTUS.
I fail to see what an awesome head to head with Wm Shatner does for her, her image, or her presidential prospects.
I like your idea of the Hollywood fund raiser with all the “right” stars. Broadcast on all the majors and minor networks. America, real America would love to see tha.
Palin is a really, really good speaker, and did you notice on the Conan show, she did it from memory.
I think she would be a great POTUS. Boy would the “liberals” ever get their panties in a twist over that.
I’m a big Palin fan and want to see her the next President, but the impact of this TV apperance has been blown out of proportion. She needs to get out more and learn how to manage the traditional lefty stream meadia where the sheeple get their instructions. These brief appearances and Facebook commentary help with her base, but she will need more exposure and be battle-ready by the next election cycle.
No, here's "mushy" ...
I guess you haven’t read any of her op-eds in the Wapo or Wall Street Journal. You should look them up. They are some of the most widely read pieces on each site and obviously are very influential judging from the stir they cause.
The last thing she needs to do is to listen to anyone who tries to tell her what she needs to do.
BINGO
A walk-on with the POpe, that would have been a big deal.
THis was just to pimp her book.
Which, I will have to say, HAper-Collins has been doing a very good job on managing the sales.
saraH will pocket quite the tidy sum.
Yep. And I would say the same thing about anyone else of any party.
Making a winning public appearance on the Tonight show that promotes her biography, is an incredibly effective way to spread her conservative message and further the conservative cause.
Anything that furthers her positive recognition among the general public, pushes the conservative agenda forward.
I don’t know where these sour apples come from, you guys sound angry at her.
"It might be a strange thing to say, but of these four, I actually think the Tonight Show appearance may turn out to be the most consequential in the long run. Her poetic mano a mano with Shatner was probably the first time since her GOP convention speech that she really connected with the broad centre of the electorate that judges politicians not so much on policies as on personality. And when I mean connected, I really mean connected. Not just showing a likeable personality - funny, smart, willing to have a laugh at her own expense - but connecting at a more basic level; the level which defines what really makes people American. Because to most viewers, show business is partly what America is all about. And let's be honest: when, if ever, do they get to see a politician who is perfectly at ease in the world of entertainment, who looks as happy on the Tonight Show reading funny excerpts from William Shatner's autobiography as she does giving a speech at a party convention?
If Gov. Palin can get a liberal television critic like David Zurawik to confess that:"
"I think it is one of her better and funnier moments on TV. I love the bongo drums and bass reading Shatner gave her book, "Going Rogue," but she comes back just as strong with bongo, bass and flute. I love it.
Listen, there are a million things I do not like about Palin. But credit where credit is due, this is a nice, cool and comic touch for her "Going Rogue" media blitz. As light as this spot was, it gives me new respect for her.
bttt
Patience. Look what she’s done with her book and tour, Facebook and op-eds just in the 5+ months since she’s left office. She’s going to be out there getting us a majority Congress in ‘10 and teeing up the Senate for a majority on her coattails in ‘12.
