Things like three mile island keeps me on edge.
Why??? It's still there and producing electricity and without incident since 1979. And unlike, say Centralia, Harrisburg is still there too, perhaps unfortunately.
I'm more concerned about breathing pollution from coal plants or seeing land stripped for mining, or seeing potentially explosive natural gas pipelines snacked throughout the country.
Why? TMI proved the US LWR design is safe. It proved that humans operating the plant could completely screw up and the defense in depth safty systems work intended.
