most Irish hate the ira but for some reason there are a few misguided Americans who think of them as hero’s and that they are liked.
I rememebr meeting two guys from N Ireland and one was catholic and one prod.
We all hung out together and one day this American could not understand why we all hung out.
He was the kind of guy who drank Guiness because he though of himself as Irish(I’m sure you know the kind)
The Catholic guy told me that the reason he left over there was because he wanted to get away from that kind of bigotry and ignorance
They use to go around the bars on a fri and sat night and collect money for the PLO and IRA,always struck me as kinda weird.
Yeah i know the kind moved to London for a few years and had many prod friends it was not a issue,could not do that in Eire,it would get you beaten up for consorting with the enemy.
My mothers side of the family love to burn the union-jack outside the British embassy,father told me son stay away from that side of the family,13 boys,6 girls on my mums side they are a huge clan in Dublin now, prolly a couple of hundreds now...
