Boy, this nails the core problem (imo).
One of my favorite verses: Isaiah 2:22 - Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?
To many of us are trusting politicians, government, scientists, etc. etc.
From Election Day 2008:
Jeremiah17:5-13. Here is 5-6.
5Thus says the Lord:
Cursed are those who trust in mere mortals
and make mere flesh their strength,
whose hearts turn away from the Lord.
6They shall be like a shrub in the desert,
and shall not see when relief comes.
They shall live in the parched places of the wilderness,
in an uninhabited salt land.
That’s what “humanism” does - it puts mere humans in positions of religious level of trust.
See tagline.
Those who reject the biblical worldview and call yourselves “Christians” are part of the problem. You can’t be friends with the world and its values and not be an enemy of God (James 4:4).
