Images of Nazi or Soviet atrocities always provoke surreal astonishment, “How could people let this happen to themselves? Didn’t they see the signs, hear the insane speeches? Why didn’t they die fighting this?” Watching Matt Damon’s The People Speak, I ask myself, “Are we there yet…there where all those millions of victims were, when I shouted at them for their supposed apathy, lethargy, culpable complacency?”
Will someone look back at me one day and ask, “How could she watch rising Communism on television and shuffle off to bed…didn’t she hear what they were saying?” Damon’s troubadours stirred the people to anger, to action, to Revolution, and I am thinking about putting up the family Nativity Scene and how much I hate ironing my husband’s cotton shirts on Monday.
Damon’s American Communists have a systematic plan. They are organized, funded, determined. What do we have? Hours of raw Marxism were fed to America on national television. Where is our coordinated opposition? Where is the clear enunciation of our ideology, our determination to resist? Where are our freedom fighters, our leaders, our Cardinal Mindszentys?
Mindszenty? Yes, honored by Time Magazine under Whittaker Chambers, this Archbishop of Hungary thundered from his pulpit against the Communist coup before he disappeared into the torture chambers of Andrassy Street in 1948. This arch-enemy of Marxism exhorted journalists, politicians, teachers, everyone, to fight to the death against their enslavement to the Soviet Union. He suffered in prison on for decades until he escaped.
The Cardinal spent the final years of his life travelling the globe, warning the world of the fate that awaited all countries unless they vigorously pushed back against the same Marxist propaganda Damon regaled us with last night. No one has the stones to step up (myself included), since even the slightest sign of bucking the government would put you in a concentration camp a la public schools for re-education.
If they try for blanket gun control, however, I believe you will see people stepping up. I hope...

there was a show on pbs last night where he read some parts. i saw a little of it. basically some America hating guy wrote a book about all the bad things that ever happened to anyone in America, and held that out as what we really stand for. Pure propaganda. The reason (at least one) that they had Damon on was his character in Good Will Hunting referred to the book as “real” history.
God can do the impossible ... nothing is to hard for God. Only will He? We are a weak and sinful people that have cooperated in our own enslavement.
We we show remorse? Are we repentant? or is only for others and not ourselves?
God have mercy on Your people, help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

I made a conscious effort to miss this show last night, assuming it would be leftist crap. My prediction was apparently accurate. When actors start believing their own press releases they only embarrass themselves.
"Pay attention, this is the important part . . . Where he ended breathless to the applause of the audience.
I thought "What the hell is he going on about? His gang is running the place!" Maybe this crew really wants the whole thing pulled down, Constitution and all.

Response #2: This sounds like a program that will soon be played over and over on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) news channel. They love indoctrinating unwary Canadians with this kind of stuff.

As for our God, it may be that we are moving into the days before Antichrist. Jesus has an agenda to work out that is described in His books of prophecy. Can’t fight Him. Don’t want to.
It was my memorable pleasure to have personally met Cardinal Mindzenty, in the years after his release from abuse and house arrest in Hungary.
He was small in stature but great in character. Anyone would benefit from reading his memoirs.
His influence continues through the Mindzenty Reports.
