Two nonprofit groups say that computer technicians have found 22 million White House e-mails from the administration of President George W. Bush.

WASHINGTON -- Computer technicians have found 22 million missing White House e-mails from the administration of President George W. Bush, according to two groups that are settling lawsuits they filed over the failure by the Bush White House to install an electronic record keeping system.

The two groups made the announcement as they settled lawsuits that they filed against the Executive Office of the President in 2007.

But the public might not see any of the e-mails for quite some time because they will now go through the National Archives normal process for releasing presidential and agency records.

"We may never discover the full story of what happened here," said Melanie Sloan, CREW's executive director. "It seems like they just didn't want the e-mails preserved."

Sloan said the latest count of misplaced e-mails "gives us confirmation that the Bush administration lied when they said no e-mails were missing."

No, it doesn't Miss Sloan, it only means that the definition of "missing" might not include "deleted" and therefore not preserved. If they were deleted they new where they were and not therefore missing.

I wonder if mine is in them. The one where I told him he was doing a good job. He never did answer me back.

Sounds like a job for Sandy Burglar. How convenient that his security clearance has been restored!

I sense yet another diversion tactic via the State-Run-Media to distract us from the Socialist takeover of the Medical Insurance industry......

The One did “summon” his disciples to the WH for a chat tomorrow! I figure this is the first of several “coincidental” news stories that will appear today, tonight, and tomorrow!

You know, like how every time another scandal would hit Clinton, half the African continent went looking for a hole to hide in because they knew they would be getting bombed by the USAF - it was only a matter of WHEN, not IF!!

?

I really don’t think that the Bush Administration sent 22M emails. These have to be website emails that the public sent.

Does this include Carol Browners emails from EPA tenure under Bill Clinton. The computers that were cleaned up even though they were under legal subpoena? She claims she knew nothing of the legal action for her computers.

Will they have the same outrage at this snooping.

How is this "snooping?" Those emails belong to us.

Maybe snooping isn’t the right word.
Will any remarks be dismissed as just personal venting?
Or will some sinister motive be applied.
How much you want to bet it is the latter.

The president of Obummer’s graduating class, who was taking the same Constitutional Law class as supposedly was Obummer, and the entire graduating class for that year never saw Obummer. Dan Rather had to retire, so.......

There's a difference between "missing" and "intentionally deleted".

This is Apples and Oranges. The Presidential Records Act is a federal law that requires the retention of all presidential records including e-mails. I hate to say this, buit the retrieval of these e-mails is very clear evidence that someone in the Bush adminsitration not only broke the law, but lied about it in open court (while dems may wink at perjury, I believe we still consider it a serious crime)

At the time these e-mails went missing, the White house said it was because of an accidential flaw in the back-up system, and brought its IT techs into court to swear that there was no possible way to retrieve them.

The fact that the new adminstration’s techs were able to do so, so very easily and that so many e-mails were retrieved is clear evidence that someone in the Bush White House at least committed perjury, which is very disappointing to me, and nothing we should be defending.

Ok now I am totally against perjury...so now that I have that clear.
We all know that the point of all of this is the power crazed Dums want to find something they can go BACK to ...for the purpose of charging someone-anyone in the Bush Admin..with...well anything.

We have found out that the Zero admin is nothing more than a giant..get Bush operation.

They certainly are not about running the Gov. Every other word out of this Admins mouth is it’s Bushs fault.
In 2012, they will still be blaming Bush.
I guess that is the direction which I tend to view this story.

IIRC, W was forbidden to use email by the USSS. I do remember him saying that he missed emailing the most of all the things he had to give up during his tenure.
