Al Gore, the former US Vice-President, has become embroiled in a climate change spin row after claiming that the Arctic could be completely ice-free within five years.
Speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, Mr Gore said new computer modelling suggests there is a 75 per cent chance of the entire polar ice cap melting during the summertime by 2014.
However, he faced embarrassment last night after Dr Wieslav Maslowski, the climatologist whose work the prediction was based on, refuted his claims.

Dr. Maslowski is unaware that the earth’s core is several million degrees, and that is what will melt the ice cap

This seems to be getting more mainstream coverage, albeit from over the pond. It actually comes at a good time being on the heels of climate-gate. It adds to the belief the whole GW is pure hooey.

I’m guessing that GW Bush ‘stole’ the correct data that Mr. Gore was suppose to receive.

The entire thesis that former VP Gore posits is ludicrous. In order for the entire polar ice cap to melt, the average temperature would have to exceed 0 degrees Celcius, rising from the current average temperature of -40 degrees. Even if ALL measures presented were adopted and enacted, the best guesstimation would be that 1/2 of 1 degree Celcius would be reduced.
Is Gore incapable of seeing just how asinine his comments and activism happens to be?

Well Owl Gore has to be right. He invented the Internet. He has been working over a decade for the climate disaster. Who does this “scientist” think he is.

There should be a book about Gore's greatest knee slappers!
To: almcbean
Actually, that is one of the “strong theories” for the slight melting seen in the Arctic while the Antarctic ice sheets are growing.
Geothermal activity under the northern polar region.

Al Gore, the former US Vice-President, has become embroiled in a climate change spin row after claiming that the Arctic could be completely ice-free within five years. There shouldn't be any "ROW". Gore is a complete, utter idiot and EVERYBODY including the Lamestream Media knows it. Nothing Gore says is relevant or meaningful...But he has managed to parlay all this BULL$hit into millions of dollars. At least, you have to give him credit for that.
To: markomalley
Algore—just playing on our fears-—once again.
When he steps back on American soil, he needs to go on trial for fraud.
