Yet another round of heavy lake-effect snow is already getting underway across the Great Lakes as arctic air blasts through the region. Through Wednesday, up to a foot or two of snow will bury some communities in New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Treacherous travel conditions will result with snow-packed roads, blowing and drifting snow and local whiteouts. This lake-effect snow event will also impact areas farther south and east through New York and Pennsylvania than last week’s round.
The lake-effect machine had already kicked in by Tuesday morning over lakes Superior and Michigan with heavy snow falling in Michigan.
Parts of northwestern Pennsylvania and upstate New York are next this afternoon into tonight.
In some areas, the snow will fall at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, making it difficult for snow removal crews to keep up.
People who must travel along Interstates 75 and 196 through Michigan, I-90 from northeastern Ohio through much of New York, I-79 through northwestern Pennsylvania and I-86 and I-81 through New York should be prepared for hazardous conditions. Use caution and allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination.

The arctic air spreading in will also be an added danger with the threat of frostbite and hypothermia. Those braving the brutal conditions should be sure to bundle up and take along blankets in case they become stranded or get into an accident.

Mark is a good man, and he’s very smart. I don’t ever mean to put him down. I’m just bummed out today.
Maybe we should all write Ben Nelson and let him know we will absolutely support him if he votes the right way. I’ve written several letters today and I guess the most disappointing out of all the senators is Lieberman. Yes I know he is a lib but he always struck me as a level headed man. With the blatant attack on his wife you would think he would, just to spite the marxists, vote AGAINST this monstrosity. But it sounds like he is whoring himself out too.
I’ll go have a look.
Understand, he’s the best in my book also. My people know not to call when he’s on.
