Democrats seem oblivious to the polls which, heretofore, they lived by, so let them die by the same polls now.

I figure they must be counting on amnesty and redistricting to save their sorry butts in 2010.

If they were really going to do that, then why drop the public option and the expansion of Medicare provisions? Surely they would have had 51 votes even with those provisions in the bill. If they go nuclear, might as well put those provisions back in.
