Golf is what I call a “skilled leisure activity”. You look at a pig like John Daly or a runt like Corey Pavin, and it’s quite arguable that golfers are not athletes.

When I was a kid, I played golf. I would NOT call myself an athlete or even golf a sport.
Bowling gives more of a workout.
At the same time, it is a good activity that at least gets you out of the house.
