It’s very ironic that the polygamists of America descended into the same gender apartheid as Islam, which also practices polygamy, no? My opinion is that the mathematical need to get rid of extra young men is a recipe for child abuse, manipulation of women, alienation of the parent/child relationship and violent tendencies among young men competing for mates. The resulting extra males left with no spouses become fodder for suicide bombings.
There is even the corollary of inbreeding.
There are many comparisons between Mormonism (which FLDS polygamy groups are part of and actually follow the teaching of Joseph Smith closer than SLC does) and Islam.
In 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim, “I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was ‘the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword.’ So shall it eventually be with us—‘Joseph Smith or the Sword!’ ”
The polygamy groups have their own method of getting rid of young men. They are called the “Lost Boys of Utah”
