Sarah Palin is on Time Magazine's PEOPLE WHO MATTERED IN 2009 List
TIME ^ | 12/16/2009 | Amy Sullivan

Posted on 12/16/2009 10:56:04 AM PST by SeekAndFind

She may not be the Person of the Year, but Time considered her influence significant enough to put her on the list of PEOPLE WHO MATTERED in 2009.

Here's their explanation :

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you thought Sarah Palin was just going to fade back into the Alaskan wilderness after she and John McCain lost the 2008 presidential election, then you don't know Sarah. America's favorite Rorschach political figure is still going rogue, whether quitting her job as governor — who needs a bully pulpit when there's Facebook? — or spending her hour on Oprah dissing the 19-year-old father of her grandson. Will she run in 2012? Does it matter? In a Republican Party looking to be energized, Palin is the one drawing the crowds (even if they have to pay for a photo with her). She's their moose-huntin', "you betcha"–spouting, partisan jabbing sweetheart. Seventy percent of Americans may think Palin is unqualified to be President, but 100% of Palin supporters don't care.

— Amy Sullivan

No one reads Time or Newsweak anymore, so they don’t matter.

If it weren’t for doctors offices, and dentists, they would both be bankrupt ;-)

“Seventy percent of Americans may think Palin is unqualified to be President”

And I call BS on that statement. How can they say that if thousands upon thousands of people are turning out to see Sarah?

And, the scary thing is, how did so many people think Obama was qualified to be President?

SARAH PALIN IS FAR MORE QUALIFIED TO BE POTUS THAN OBAMA EVER WILL BE!!!!!!

I and millions of others support Sarah for President in 2012, 100%, wholeheartedly and without any hesitation or reservations. It is the liberal and RINO whackos who try to convince America that Sarah is nothing.

If Sarah is nothing, then why do they mention her, practically every single day and hang on her every word???

She scares the CRAP out of them!

“Amy Sullivan raises ‘snarky’ to new heights.”

And she lowers “lying” to new depths.

“spending her hour on Oprah dissing the 19-year-old father of her grandson”

She in fact used only a small fraction of the hour mentioning Levi, and only when asked about him. And considering how viciously the punk attacked her, Sarah was relatively easy on him in the interview.

or spending her hour on Oprah dissing the 19-year-old father of her grandson.

Total nonsense. She spent only a very few minutes discussing the father of her grandson, and that in response to Oprah questions. And she hardly dissed him, but said he'd always be the father of her grandson and she hoped he'd always be a part of the family. Don't recall every word, but her words were measured and more hopeful than critical.

I notice that they didn’t put Levi Johnson on their list. But I see that Tiger Woods made the cut.

Really? Was that the un-edited edition of Oprah that nobody else saw?

all they care about is selling magazines, so they probably just took the top 25 google hits (surprise brittney is off the list).

clearly palin is far more influential in terms of policy debate than john and kate, but never accuse time of putting substance over $$.

It’s all part of the Goebbelsian plot...repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth [i.e., “I can see Alaska from my house”]...it doesn’t matter that there is tape that disproves this lie, just you wait, soon it will be the truth.

I agree Neda should be on the list but our main stream News never seemed to care at the time.
