Gibbs on Dean: Nobody 'Rational' Would Kill the Bill
Newser ^ | 16 December 2009 | Nick McMaster

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs fired back at Howard Dean today for encouraging progressives to kill the health care reform bill. Dean thinks the bill, without a public option, is now too compromised to deserve further support. "I would ask Dr. Dean, how better do you address those who don't have insurance: passing a bill that will cover 30 million who don't currently have it or killing the bill?"

"I don't think any rational person would say killing the bill makes a whole lot of sense at this point," Gibbs continued, notes the Huffington Post. Dean called the bill's latest incarnation a gift to the insurance industry. Gibbs contested that assessment: "If this is an insurance company's dream, I think the insurance companies have yet to get the memo."

Of course, anyone who opposes anthing this adminstration does is irrational ... or they are racist. Pick one. /s

I can’t wait to see the new bill that provides cars for the 100 million non-car-owners by forcing them to buy a car.

No one “rational” would have introduced the bill.

Democrats disagree -> irrational
Repubs/Conservatives disagree -> racist

That’s BHO’s modus operandi

"I don't think any rational person would say killing the bill makes a whole lot of sense at this point,"

So, he's sayin', "We might as well all eat the sh*t sandwich, cuz its already halfway out of the President's ass" ...

I think this is the first time I’ve ever heard of a Press Secretary injecting himself into the debate. Generally, don’t they just speak on behalf of the President and leave the childish bickering to our honorable elected officials?...*cough*

In a left-handed way, Dr. Howard Brush Dean III, limousine liberal and gadfly, is almost of the same opinion of the “reform” health-care proposal as myself, but for diametrically opposed reasons. His objection is that the outlines of the bill as now proposed, do not go nearly far enough, while it is in fact a total usurpation of all the medical infrastructure that now exists in the US.

The bill should die, to be replaced with something that has some relevance for Americans. ALL Americans, not just for Americans-in-name-only, or AINOs.

What would happen if government just got out of health care entirely?

Would the maket compete to get the consumer's dollars - insurers, pharmacies, hospitals, doctors, dentists?

You bet they would. And competition would drive down all the costs....and the consumer could buy just what he/she needs at any point in life, from the "best" seller.

And the government would shed expenses of trillions of dollars now being paid for Medicare, Medicaid, and a host of welfare programs.

No longer would the insurance company get between you and your doctor, saying "No you cannot have that treatment, or that drug, or that test."

But then I awoke.....
