During the Vietnam War, as soon as the fight was over, U.S. troops were on their way home???? The fight was not over when US troops left. Otherwise the 1st Sergeant would not have needed to evacuate all those South Vietnamese civilians.
It won't be over when we leave this time either.
Congress, to save money for "health care" and whatever, is quite likely to cut off the Iraqies who we've trained, just like they cut off the South Vietnames. If anything, Congress is much farther to the left now than in the early 1970s.
